Hey! Thanks for clicking through to watch this video excerpt from the performance I did at Virginia Tech on April 16, 2026. The full program is called ‘Life Lessons Learned Through Music.’ This clip is the encore, Lessons #7: Listen to Your Heart. It held extra special meaning to perform it at Virginia Tech on this specific date. When you watch, you’ll understand!

PS. I’d love nothing more than to perform this again (and again)! If you know of an event looking for a keynote speaker with a musical twist, I hope you’ll reach out. For context, here’s a little bit more backstory on the program…

Life Lessons Learned Through Music

Before I knew how to trust myself, I knew how to play the right notes.

I spent years thinking I was just learning piano music. But looking back now, I realize it was about so much more than the notes on the page.

Through all those lessons, rehearsals, and hours at the piano, I was learning how to do hard things. How to focus. How to communicate. How to find my voice. And how to show up and trust myself.

I didn’t realize it then… but those were the exact skills I would need later in life. Because it turns out, life is unpredictable. It hits you when you least expect it, and never when it’s convenient.

But because of music, I learned how to look for the lessons in those moments. Because something in me had been trained to trust the process. To take the next step. To keep playing even when I wasn’t sure which note was supposed to come next.

Music didn’t just give me the ability to perform… it gave me the confidence to trust myself.

And now, through storytelling and piano, I bring that experience to the stage so others can find that same confidence and learn to trust themselves, too.

Because the goal isn’t to get everything perfect.
It’s to keep showing up, keep going, and trust yourself in the moments that matter most.
